Company founder Suzan Lumière fell in love with Tibetan culture, wisdom and philosophy in the late 70s. She studied and practiced Tibetan Buddhism abroad for several years before returning home to Canada with her newborn daughter and a commitment to living a more meaningful life...
LIFE IS TOO SHORT, TOO PRECIOUS TO GET STUCK IN THE FAST LANE
In 1993, she founded Lotus Light Himalaya to help spread Tibet awareness and to become first in Canada to sell authentic Tibetan incense to fellow Westerners who were all too desperate for cleaner incense.
In today's increasingly toxic world and fast-paced culture, people everywhere continue to seek out healthier, more peaceful lifestyles. And we proudly continue to help them by offering peace-promoting lifestyle products that truly matter.
Lotus Light Himalaya now offers an assortment of handmade products that continue to add meaning, joy and inspiration to people's lives.
In 2005, we became the first Canadian company to introduce to the market a line of beautiful handmade glass bead bracelets that help empower women artisans in Nepal to rise above poverty through ethical trade.
OUR COMMITMENT
Not only are we committed to the high quality and outstanding craftsmanship of our products,
we believe strongly in fair sustainable trade practices and in the preservation of ancient wisdom through ritual and tradition.
Simply put, we don't believe anything's worth making or selling if it isn't meaningful.
We hope you will enjoy our products as much as we enjoy making them available to you!
In collaboration with several NGOs, our Roll-On bracelet supplier in Nepal has provided over 1800 women of all ages with free training, paying them above-market wages that are fair and competitive, while ensuring them a safe and comfortable working environment.
Our goal is to preserve wisdom, beauty and peace by empowering talented artisans around the world and helping them achieve social and economic freedom by working with people who share the same goals.
